Edward Tayler (1826-1906)

Artist Name Edward Tayler (1826-1906)
Title Portrait of a Young Girl with Golden Locks
Description .This beautiful exhibited Pre-Raphaelite detailed British Victorian watercolour portrait is by noted Birmingham School artist Edward Tayler. Painted circa 1897 it was exhibited that year at the Royal Academy entitled Golden Locks. Her lovely blue eyes really stand out and are picked up in the blue of the wallpaper behind her. Her Golden Locks appear to almost glow, giving the image an angelic quality and an idealized image of young beauty rather than a specific person. A beautiful Victorian painting and an excellent example of Tayler's skill as a portrait painter.
