|Portrait of Molly in a Red Beret
|This striking Art Deco portrait oil painting is by female artist Jolan Polatschek Williams. Williams was born in Austria but settled in England in the 1920's where she remained. Painted in 1934 it is a Post Impressionist seated portrait of a dark haired woman in a red berret holding red gloves. The colouring is very vibrant with strong shading in greens and a green background. The bruskwork is also bold and confident. A really gorgeous portrait by a talented female artist who exhibited at the Royal Academy in the forties and fifties.
