Description This stunning Old Master portrait oil painting is attributed to circle of Godfrey Kneller. Painted circa 1685 the sitter is the beautiful Mrs Elizabeth Pegge. It is a half length feigned oval with the sitter wearing an off the shoulder dress and her dark curls piled high on her head, really showing off th curve of her neck. A really beautiful Old Master portrait of a beautiful woman in her prime, captured perfectly by circle of the leading British portrait painter of the 17th and 18th century. It is housed in a fine Lely original gilded frame which is in remarkable condition.
Provenance According to the family archive this oil was given to the the late Jennifer da Silva's mother in 1934 by Lady Williams-Taylor, then of Eaton Square.
