Biography David L Swasey (1909-1977). Swasey, studied art at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts Philadelphia, and the National Academy of Design. He had his works exhibited in France and at the National Academy of Design and the Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh. He was a member of the Essex Art Association of Essex Connecticut. The Essex Art Association, housed in a historic Essex building, has served the Shoreline area as a nonprofit seasonal art gallery since 1946. They were the first local art association to embrace all styles of art, from the traditional to the cutting edge.  Swasey mainly painted portraits. He died at his Essex home aged 68.
