| Description | This large charming Victorian genre interior oil painting is by a Dutch artist. Painted circa 1880 the composition is a woman attended a pot on a fire. She has vegetables to her left she is preparing and a bowl of potatoes on the floor. On the mantlepiece over the fire are some lovely plates and jugs. A really superb Victorian genre interior oil painting with great colouring which harks back to the Dutch Golden Age tradition of genre and still life paintings. Indistinctly signed right. |
