Description | This lovely British Art Deco portrait oil painting is by noted portrait artist James Penniston Barraclough. It was painted in 1923 and is signed and dated lower right. The composition is a seated three quarter length portrait of a pretty young lady with short dark hair in a pink and cream dress set against a light background. There is lovely sensitive detail in her face and the brushwork on her dress is superb. The painting is housed within the most beautiful silvered Art Deco frame that finishes it off perfectly. This is a lovely British 1920's oil portrait and an excellent example of Barraclough's work. Signed and dated lower right. |
