Title | Still Life Floral with Irises and Daffodils |
Description | This superb Scottish floral still life oil painting is by noted Glasgow artist John Burns Robertson. Painted in 1931 it is a stunning arrangement of blue and white irises mixed with yellow daffodils standing out against a dark background. They are arranged in a lovely terracotta jug stood next to another highly glazed jug that really catches the light. The contrast of the two jugs is almost as beautiful as the flowers. Robertson was known for his floral still lifes and this is an excellent example. Signed and dated 1931 lower left. |
