| Title |
Yellow Chrysanthemums in a Vase |
| Description |
This beautiful French 19th century floral still life oil painting is attributed to circle of Henri Fantin Latour. It was previously at Donnington Castle House so has excellent provenance. Painted circa 1880 the composition is of delicate small headed chrysanthemums, mainly yellow but some pink and white to the back of the arrangement along with some dark purple ones behind. They are in a vase on a small circular table with a patterned drape over it. The dark background makes the yellow flowers absolutely zing off the canvas and the gilt empire frame is just perfect to finish it off. There is incredible detail to the flowers and the brushwork is superb. This is a stunning French Victorian floral still life oil painting and would grace any wall.
