|Portrait of a Gentleman
|This superb British Old Master military portrait is by noted artist Lemuel Francis Abbott. Painted circa 1790, the composition is a half-length standing portrait of a gentleman gazing to his left. There is wonderful detail and brushwork in his facial features and the lace of his cravat. This is a stunning British Old Master portrait and an excellent example of Abbott's work.
