|Coastal View of Penzance from Newlyn, Cornwall
|This lovely floral landscape oil painting is by artist Elsie Bye Rawson. Painted circa 1960 the view is looking down from Newlyn and along the coast to Penzance in Cornwall. St Marys church at Penzance can be seen in the distance. This is a walk we have often taken with our dog on holiday, when walking from Penzance along the coast to Newlyn Art Gallery. In the foreground is a magnificent spray of white peonies with their frilly edges and yellow centres. A lovely light and airy Cornish landscape painting with good impasto on the peonies and finished off in a coloured frame.
