Biography | Honore Cavaroc (1846-1930) French painter, pastellist of portraits, landscapes, still-lifes and flowers. Cavaroc studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Lyons in 1866, and also with Jean Seignemartin. His paintings were composed of juxtapositions of colours, which accentuated his back-lit subjects in delicate greys and purples. He painted his last works when he was more than 80, including The Gaiety of the Fields of Montmoyen (Cote d'Or) and Entry of the Park in Oullins (Rhone). Cavarocfirst exhibited at the salon in Lyons in 1872. He was a member of the Salon des Artistes Francais in Paris, taking part up to 1929 and winning a medal in 1886. He also received a third class medal at the Exposition Universalle in1889 and 1890. |
