Mixed Floral Arrangement in a Vase |
| Description |
This stunning 18th century Dutch Old Master Golden Age floral oil painting is attributed to Simon Pietersz Verelst. Painted circa 1720 it is a still life floral of a mixed flower arrangement in a vase on a marble table. The flowers include white and pink roses, flame tulips, peonies and carnations. A swallow tail is on the marble table below. Many similar writhing peonies appear in Verelst's work. The colours are still vibrant and the details superb. This is a really beautiful example of an 18th century Dutch floral still life oil painting.
