J A Henderson Tabert (1865-1937). Prolific Edinburgh painter of coastal scenes, mountains and moorland. Commonly known as Henderson Tabert. a painter in both oils and watercolour. Married to Christian Peddie. His colours are invariably strong, perhaps influences by Cadell. His paintings have an impressive realism conveyed in nicely harmonised colour, in the Mac Whirter tradition. Active member of the Scottish arts club.
 
Exhibited: Royal Academy 4, 1883-1912, Royal Scottish Academy 108, Royal Society of Painters in Watercolour 25, Royal Hibernian Academy 1, Glasgow Institute 31, Aberdeen Artists Society 1902 and 1935, Walker Gallery Liverpool 4.
