Painted circa 1800 it is a fine half length portrait painting of a gentleman in military uniform. There is great detail in his facial features and noble bearing. A fine example of a British Old Master portrait oil painting.

Biography Sir Henry Raeburn FRSE RA RSA  (1756-1823) was a British portrait painter and Scotland's first significant portrait painter since the Union to remain based in Scotland. He served as Portrait Painter to King George IV in Scotland.
