| Title | Houses in the Woods |
| Description | This lovely British Post Impressionist landscape oil painting is from a collection of Peter L Field paintings acquired from the family. Painted in 1949, the composition is a view of trees on a hill seen over the low rooves of a couple of houses in the foreground. It looks like spring as there is the vibrant pink of cherry trees and possibly bluebells in the garden in the foreground. Field has focused on the colours and shapes in this vibrant patchwork. A really stunning oil painting that just works and an excellent example of Field's eye for colour. Signed and dated 1949 lower right. |
