Imre Knopp (1867-1945)

Imre Knopp (1867-1945) was a Hungarian painter and son of artist Joseph Knopp. He acquired artistic qualifications in Weimar, then Paris, and finally in Budapest, at the Gyula Benczúr school. In 1895 he won a state gold medal, in 1906 he won the Ráth Award, and in 1917 he won a state grand gold medal. He was a member of the Benczúr Society. In 1887 he first exhibited in the Art Gallery. In 1922 and 1930 he organized a collection exhibition there. His works were placed in the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest, in the gallery of the Capital of Szekes and the Arad Palace of Culture.
