George Henry Harlow (1787-1819)

George Henry Harlow (1787-1819) was an English painter known mostly for his portraits. He was born in London, the posthumous son of a China merchant. He was sent to a classical school at a young age and later apprenticed to Thomas Lawrence. Harlow’s career was marked by his original approach to art education and his ability to capture the essence of his subjects. He died in 1819 aged 31, leaving behind a legacy of portraits that continue to inspire artists and collectors alike.
