Biography William M Davies (1826-1910) was a Scottish landscape oil painter who flourished between 1890 and 1910. Davies particularly painted around the Lake District in the late 1890's and also the Scottish Highlands, often in Argyllshire. His love of the landscape and panting outdoors shines through in his many works as he captured the mountainous landscape bathed in an almost Breanski style light. He often included sheep or cattle in his paintings with sympathetic detail. Davies was a much sought after Victorian artist of his day.
