We have recently had the pleasure of viewing the Lowry exhibition again at Salford Quays. If you are ever in the area this free exhibition is definately worth seeing. As well as his more well known industrial mill paintings there are some stunning seascapes painting and one of his mother's bedroom a year or so after she died. There is also lots of information about his life - working as a rent collector, looking after his bed ridden critical mother for 6 years and painting in the attic at night - and some wonderful photos of his old house, and him surrounded by paintings. There is also now a film out abot his life - Mrs Lowry and Son, with Timothy Spall and Vanessa Redgrave. Below are some of our favorite Lowry paintings.
