Joseph Henry Kirsop (1886-1981)

Joseph Henry Kirsop (1886-1981). Kirsop was a painter in oils and watercolour as well as an etcher of landscape, marine and some architectural subjects. He was  born in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1886 and often painted views in and around Newcastle as well as Staithes in Yorkshire. He studied part-time at Gateshead School of Art and Armstrong College Newcastle. Kirsop exhibited at the Royal Academy, London in 1943 to much acclaim. He died in 1981.
