Artist Name Unknown Artist
Title Study of a Schoolboy with Cricket Bat
Description This really charming portrait oil painting is by a British artist from the early 20th century circa 1930. The painting is a very proficient painting of a schoolboy, sat at a table wearing a red jumper and grey shorts. He is sat on a high stool and appears to be looking out of an attic room window. What can he see?  His books and paint brushes are abandoned behind him and an empty bowl stands on the table as if he has finished his meal. A cricket bat is by his side and he looks as if he is longing to go outside and play.

Verso is a very good portrait, perhaps a self portrait of the artist and dates to circa 1930.
