Description This charming exhibited Edwardian figurative interior oil painting is by British female artist Alice Elfrida Manly. Manly had a long artistic career and exhibited over almost 40 years. This lovely painting was exhibited at the Royal Academy in London in 1905. Entitled The Goblin Story, a young mother is telling her two young daughters a story by the fire side, their dog listening in too. She holds a finger up to them in warning!
