Description A large work by Gerald Fitzgerald, one of Australia’s most famous artists of the 19th century. In remarkable untouched condition and its original frame, it is signed and dates to circa 1900. It has its original gallery/framer label verso. The light airy palette and panoramic landscape are what made him famous - and this is a quality example of his work. This is a fine sample of a 19th century Australian Impressionist painting with good subject. The colouring of the landscape and sheep at sunset are particularly appealing. It is fresh and vibrant.
