Description | This beautiful and captivating portrait oil painting is by British artist Gerald Edward Wellesley. The portrait dates to the Victorian period, circa 1890 and depicts a bold British post Pre-Raphaelite portrait of Nora H Palairet in a fur trimmed blue coat set against a patterned background. She was the second wife to Charles Henry Palairet and step mother to Sir Michael Palairet (1882-1956) who was a British diplomat and minister. We have previously owned another portrait of Nora, both with unmistakable curly ginger hair and also set against a patterned backdrop.
