Biography Cedric Kennedy (1898-1968) Kennedy studied at the Royal Academy and although he is best known as a landscape painter, he was also a pilot and became a lieutenant in the RFC during the First World War. He was shot down in September 1916, after just three months service, and held as a prisoner of war in Straslund. During the Second World War he served at the Civil Defence Camouflage Establishment, Leamington Spa. Kennedy painted landscapes, portraits and depictions from the war including ariel views. He died in 1968 aged seventy, having survived two world wars.
