Description This lovely three quarter length portrait oil painting is attributed to British Victorian artist Sir Francis Grant. This Victorian painting is of a beautiful woman with a quite detailed landscape behind her. She is dressed in a white lace dress with a delicately detailed blue silk garment over the dress. She is portrayed holding a note book and pen, suggesting this is important to her and she possibly has aspirations as a writer or artist. A really lovely image and painting.

Biography Sir Francis Grant PRA (18 January 1803 – 5 October 1878) was a Scottish portrait painter who painted Queen Victoria and many distinguished British aristocratic and political figures. He served as President of the Royal Academy.
