James Bowman (1927-2013)

Artist Name James Bowman (1927-2013)
Title Portrait of a Golfer and Artist
Description This lovely Scottish double portrait oil painting is by noted artist James Bowman. Painted in 1952, the sitters are Robert and George, a keen golfer and an artist . The similarity in their appearance suggests they are either twins or brothers close in age. One is holding a golf club and the other is drawing aeroplanes. The bold fluid Impressionist brushwork is superb as is the range of palette making this an excellent example of Scottish colourist art.
