Jules Preval (fl. 1880-1920)

Title Portrait of Three Dogs
Description This fabulous little 19th century oil painting on panel is by French animal artist Jules Preval. Painted circa 1890, the painting is of three dogs sat in the street with a sign over their heads saying for sale. Quite frankly I'd have to buy all three because they all have that endearing 'worried dog look' that makes you want to reassure them they haven't done anything wrong! The brushwork and colouring are just lovely. A really captivating little French oil painting housed in a superb gilt frame.
