Description A beautiful oil on canvas by listed British artist John E Nicholls, painted circa 1935.  It is a large oil painting which depicts The Richmond Royal Park  in London.  A fine example of a “Modern British” painting, the vibrant colours are a fine reflection of the light at sunset. A gem of a painting house in a fine period.

Biography John E. Nicholls (1885-1955) was a London artist and etcher, who lived or painted at 6 Gainsborough Studios, London W.4 at some point. He exhibited between 1920 and 1950 and exhibited at the Royal Academy (6 paintings), The Redfern Gallery, the New English Art Club and the National Society of Painters, Sculptors and Gravers, of which he was elected a full Member.
