|Description||This lovely floral oil painting is by exhibited Scottish artist Norman S McNeil. Painted circa 1940 the composition, entitled Spring Birthday, is an arrangement of fresh spring flowers in a porcelain vase on a table next to an envelope, perhaps containing a birthday card. The flowers are a mix of narcissi, tulips, wallflowers, lilac and anemones. It is a really light and bright painting that lifts the spirits, birthday or not!
