Description A fine oil on canvas which dates to circa 1950 by  British artist Hazel Ward.  It is a super impressionist oil painting which depicts Trafalgar Square in the 1950's and takes its vantage point from the steps of the National Gallery.  A vibrant London autumnal scene with a road sweeper clearing the leaves where now street entertainers perform. Biography Hazel Ward (1928-2010). Ward went to Goldsmiths and then the Royal College of Art In June 1953 Ward had an exhibition at the Irving Galleries alongside Peter Midgley and John Leech. She exhibited work in Summer Exhibitions at The Royal Academy. Ward exhibited "The Garden" in 1950 (no.84), "Deptford Creek" (no.489) in 1952 and "Somerset House" (no. 427) in 1954.
