Carl Ferdinand Hurten (1822-1902)

Charles or Carl Ferdinand Hurten (1822-1902) was a German born artist who later worked in France and then came to England in 1858 and settled here with his family. As well as painting beautiful floral oil paintings he also painted on china and was employed by Copelands in Stoke on Trent. He continued working for Copelands until he retired in 1897 and was very highly thought of. He died in the Hendon area of London.
