The portrait is extremely well painted, dating to circa 1890 and is a detailed realist oil painting of an Oriental Turkish gentleman reading a French newspaper. The artist has finely detailed the tones within his face and his wicker rattan chair. The painting is in a fine quality gilt French Empire frame of the period.
