Title A Breezy Haymaking Day
Description An original British Impressionist oil by Charles James Lewis RI ROI (1830-1892). This painting is one of his best. It is a large oil on canvas depicting a haymaking scene in an open and expansive landscape in a stunning and fresh palette. A man harvests the field whilst a woman and a child rest and have a picnic. This is a fine example of a 19th century British Impressionist oil with good subject. The colouring of the landscape are particularly appealing.
